ASSESSING THE INFLUENCE OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF A POLYPROPYLENE AND HEMP COMPOSITE ON THE DESIGN OF UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE
The current paper studies the influence of some of the mechanical properties of a polypropylene (PP) and hemp composite on furniture products. Different values were given to the mechanical properties starting with the ones measured in the laboratory for a composite made by the company Taparo SA (Romania) in an attempt to identify the most desirable properties from new blends of PP and hemp composite. The results show which parameters are relevant to the design process and in what way.
