Abstract

Persons with missing limbs are willing to have a, relatively, normal life. Various type of prostheses, more or less complex and, consequently, more or less expensive have been developed and are available on the specialized market. This paper presents the results of research on customized upper limb prosthesis, being focused on hand prosthesis. It points out the relevant aspects on concept and design of the hand biomechanical system, kinematic analysis and finger prototype. Further research development is also mentioned.
