Abstract

Shaft - key - hub assembly is often used in industry. In order to reduce costs, the replacement of key and using an adhesive layer is tried. The purpose of the work is to compare the shaft-key-hub assembly with the shaft-hub bonded assembly from the point of view of the maximum transmissible torque. The shear strength of the adhesive layer was determined and compared to the shear strength of the key under the same operating conditions. The shear strength of the adhesive layer was determined experimentally. Based on the experimental data obtained from the static tests, it is found that there are no differences in terms of transmitted torque. In terms of costs, there is a decrease in manufacturing costs.
