Abstract

By changing the 3D printing conditions, it is possible to change the various physical-mechanical elements of the materials of the manufactured parts. A simple equipment was designed and materialized to determine the friction force generated when moving a test sample made of polylactic acid on a strip under a normal force of known magnitude. The experimental results were processed mathematically using specialized software. Empirical mathematical models were determined to highlight the influence exerted by eight input factors in the investigated process on the magnitude of the friction coefficient. It was found that the normal force and the sliding speed are the main factors that affect the value of the friction coefficient.
