PRINTER FOR THIN LAYERS SPRAYING OF NANOPARTICLE DISPERSION

Abstract


Air pollution and the trend for glass walls and large windows in the buildings have focused attention on the need of having self-cleaning glass as affordable and efficient as possible. This paper presents research aspects on the design and prototype of a printer for nanoparticle dispersion spraying. It has been integrated into a technological system for producing self-cleaning and antibacterial glass. Tests carried on the produced glass samples proved very good self-cleaning properties and, relatively, adequate, antibacterial property.  Further research development will focus on scaling the equipment for mass production.
