RESEARCH ON TOOL WEAR EVALUATION IN GRAPHITE MILLING
Abstract
The paper was developed as part of a collaboration between the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca – Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Robotics and Production Management – and Guhring SRL Company. The aim of this study is to implement a milling technology for graphite machining, as Guhring did not previously possess this capability. The objectives of the research include the development of improved tool geometry and coating for graphite milling, focusing on optimizing cutter design, enhancing coating performance, and minimizing tool wear during the machining process.
