A MULTI-TRAIT MULTI-METHOD MATRIX EXTENSION FOR URBAN PUBLIC TRANSPORT ANALYSIS

Lucian Valeriu ANDREI, Cristina OPREA

Abstract

The paper introduces MTMM-TP, a multi trait-multi method model specifically designed as a structural addition to the public transport system. In its matrix form, this model connects socio-economic factors, user perceptions, and urban characteristics with transport supply variables such as mode types, service frequencies, and capacity levels. Based on a set of equations, the responses are described as a sum of trait, method, mode, spatial and temporal effects, and error, weighted by the respective loading matrices. Thus, MTMM-TP provides a tool to analyse user perceptions, enabling a precise evaluation of the level of service quality and safety. Through the implementation of the SEM model, it offers a scientific basis for the analysis and decision-making processes in public transport.
