CONTRIBUTIONS OF MODELING AND SIMULATION TO THE STUDY OF THE CRITICALITY OF COMMUNICATION IN THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT

Dorel BADEA, Olga Maria Cristina BUCOVEȚCHI, Theodor Gabriel DAMIAN, Diana Elena RANF

Abstract

The article starts from contemporary urban realities, among which the reaction determined by news is remarkable, regardless of its mode of propagation. Against this background, the paper highlights such situations and their impact on urban functionality. A robust level of societal resilience is desired in such situations, a goal which is difficult to achieve. In this context, it is useful to have a correctly dimensioned overview of the phenomenon, that allow “what-if” analyses. The article contextualizes the role of modeling and simulation, using a specific working tool, and based on the example of the manifestation of possible situations in a city.
