RESPONSIBLE AI IN BUSINESS: ETHICAL AND SUSTAINABLE DECISION-MAKING IN THE EUROPEAN CONTEXT

Abstract


This article examines decisional ethics in the age of artificial intelligence, focusing on business decision-making in the European Union and Romania. Using a qualitative, exploratory approach based on ethical theory, policy analysis, and recent secondary data, it analyzes how AI reshapes responsibilities related to fairness, accountability, transparency, and sustainability. The study identifies a gap between general ethical maturity and preparedness for AI-specific risks. Its original contribution is an integrative conceptual framework linking ethics, sustainability, and AI governance, offering a foundation for future empirical or technical research.
