ASSESSING COLLABORATIVE ROBOT RELIABILITY FOR COLOUR SORTING UNDER VARYING LIGHTING CONDITIONS
Abstract
This research aimed to evaluate the reliability of a collaborative robotic system for sorting coloured aluminium pucks under varying lighting conditions. The experimental workstation was designed and implemented to assess the reliability of sorting. The system employs a FANUC CR-7iA/L robot with an iRVision 2D camera for colour recognition, working with inductive and optical sensors. A custom control program integrates subroutines for colour detection, puck manipulation, and conveyor control. Test results indicate optimal recognition performance in the 550–740 lx range out of the total 97–1024 lx spectrum. This solution offers efficient automation, high safety, and straightforward adaptability to diverse production tasks.
