A SUSTAINABLE APPROACH TO PRODUCT DESIGN
Abstract
The next article intends to present the actual context and the urgent need for a comprehensive reevaluation and remodeling in consequence of all systems, techniques, technologies and approaches to industrial design considering the laws governing the sustainability. Article aims to answer the following questions: What is sustainable design? Which are the characteristics of a sustainable product? Explaining why implementation of sustainability in design practice is a priority. Trying at the same time a briefly exposure of the principles of sustainable design, sustainable approaches and strategies, enduring values that enhance product durability, ending up scoring reasons for an urgent transition from traditional methods to those considering sustainability in industrial and product development.
