ANALYSING THE ENERGETIC POTENTIAL OF THE COOLING WATER WITHIN THE CONTINUOUS CASTING PROCESS OF STEEL

Abstract


The present paper aims at the evaluation of the energetic potential of cooling water on the continuous steel casting technological line. The energy fluxes afferent to balance contour are determined on the bases of measurements carried on by the authors. The energy dissipated is intuitive presented by Sankey graphical diagrams, putting in the evidence the share of the heat lost through the cooling water. The paper provides useful information for devising measures for recuperation and turning to good account of available secondary resources.
