SYNTHESIS OF THE CAM AND DETERMINATION OF THE REDUCED ANGULAR VELOCITY AND ACCELERATION OF THE LEVER OF A DISTRIBUTION MECHANISM FOR A MILLER – ATKINSON CYCLE
Abstract
In this paper we consider a distribution mechanism used for the Miller – Atkinson cycle of an engine. The synthesis of the cam is obtained by numerical methods and geometrical considerations. Two laws of motion are used for the displacement of the valve. The reduced angular velocity and acceleration are calculated for each case. The head of the valve is considered to be spherical and planar. We also study the influence of different parameters on the reduced angular velocity and acceleration of the lever.
Key words: Miller – Atkinson cycle, distribution mechanism, synthesis, reduced angular velocity and acceleration, influence of parameters.
