COMPETITIVE DESIGN AND PROTOTYPING OF A MEDICAL DEVICE USED FOR REDUCING THE SPREAD OF COVID-19
Abstract
This paper presents the design and prototyping process of a medical device that helps reduce the spread of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19), by devising a strategy that combines elements from Design Thinking and Design For Six Sigma. The resulting working prototype was tested in real-life conditions and no major functioning issues were recorded.
