Abstract

In the Industry 4.0 context, where work is shaped by automation, artificial intelligence, remote work, and digital transformation, burnout is an increased challenge for occupational safety. Employees must adapt to fast-paced technological changes, digital overload, job displacement risks, and evolving skill requirements, all of which contribute to occupational stress and exhaustion. This literature review focuses on the main key factors contributing to burnout as an occupational safety challenge in the Industry 4.0 context and the main prevention and protection measures presented in specialized literature. The findings of this research are applicable to corporate leaders, HR professionals, policymakers, and technology developers, helping them design better strategies to balance technological progress and worker well-being.
