STUDY CONCERNING THE PHYSICO - CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF RAPESEED OIL MIXED WITH DIESEL FUEL

Nicolae CORDOŞ, Nicolae BURNETE, Florin MARIASIU

Abstract

The purpose of this experimental research work was to determine the physico-chemical properties of fuels based on rapeseed oil (density, viscosity, coke residue, acid value, water content, numberofperoxidegroups and stability to oxidation). The fuels that have been used within the experimental research were mixtures of rapeseed oil and diesel fuel in different proportions: 80 % diesel fuel - 20 % rapeseed oil (RO20), 50 % diesel fuel - 50 % rapeseed oil (RO50), 25 % diesel fuel - 75% rapeseed oil (RO75), 100 % rapeseed oil (RO100) and reference fuel 100 % diesel fuel, (DF). Keywords: density, kinematic viscosity, rapeseed oil, coke residue, oxidation.
