COGNITIVE CYBERNETICS AND INDUSTRY 5.0: A UNIFIED THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK FOR RESILIENT MILITARY LOGISTICS AND AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS

Alexandru Silviu GOGA, Mircea BOȘCOIANU

Abstract

The contemporary defense landscape requires a shift toward the human-centric principles of Industry 5.0 to bridge the "complexity-control gap" in military operations. This paper proposes a unified theoretical architecture integrating Stafford Beer’s Viable System Model with AI-driven Digital Twins and Cognitive Logistics. We analyze the strategic necessity of transitioning from fragile, efficiency-optimized models to antifragile systems across the three pillars of military logistics: production, in-service, and operational. By leveraging Human-Machine Teaming, the framework addresses the cognitive load and ethical challenges of autonomous systems. The results offer a roadmap for sustaining combat power in contested environments while preserving human moral agency within the strategic, operational, and tactical command chains.
