Silviu-Mihai PETRIȘOR, Emmyly PAVEL, Ionuț-Cristian ȚOPA

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to develop and analyze an innovative technological concept – TerraFlyer, a hybrid mobile platform capable of terrestrial movement and autonomous vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). The project aims to integrate the advantages of ground mobility with those of air mobility into a single system, through an adaptable mechanical architecture and high-precision electronic control. TerraFlyer was designed based on the need to overcome the limitations of conventional vehicles in terms of terrain accessibility, autonomy, and operational versatility. The project proposes an interdisciplinary approach, integrating principles of mechanical engineering, aerodynamics, robotics, and control electronics. In addition to describing the system architecture, simplified performance calculations, a functional analysis of the main components, and the practical steps of modeling, printing, and assembly are presented.
