DECIPHERING MILITARY MULTI-UAV SYSTEMS RESILIENCE: A FMECA-BASED FRAMEWORK FOR RAPID TACTICAL DECISIONS

Cosmin MIRCEA, Marius POȘA

Abstract

Given that in modern conflicts drone-type technological systems are increasingly used, evolving from their singular use to that represented by multi-UAV systems and swarms and implementing artificial intelligence at their level through machine learning capabilities, it is necessary to lean towards their management at the decision-making level, but through the possibility of performing an automatic risk analysis in order to guide a drone system. This paper aims to deepen the understanding of the implementation and maintenance of the resilience of multi-UAV systems. Starting from the FMECA risk management method, a unique decision-making framework is offered for the development of decisions specific to the tactical use of intelligent aerial robot systems to support armed forces in military operations.
