MATHEMATICAL MODEL APPLIED TO PILOT’S PHYSIOLOGICAL MEASUREMENT
Abstract
The aerospace industry continues to expand; nevertheless, statistical reports indicate that the number of aviation accidents increased in 2024 over the past decade. Among safety-enhancement strategies advocated by ICAO is the improvement of working conditions for aviation personnel. A representative initiative is the Future Sky Safety project, which advances a contemporary ergonomics paradigm through the Human Performance Envelope concept. Previous work introduced a revised definition of this concept, identified current limitations, proposed a mathematical model for examining nine ergonomic factors, and conducted physiological measurements on a pilot using a flight simulator. The aim of the present study is to compare the outcomes of the mathematical model obtained using literature-based parameter values with those derived from the simulator-based experimental data.
