Abstract

This paper falls within the field of rehabilitation engineering, emphasizing the design of a mechatronic prosthesis for the human lower limb, based on input data specific to the user - a patient with unilateral transtibial amputation. A completely designed variant of the prosthesis is proposed, based on two main components which are: human-machine (user-prosthesis) interface and the terminal device. Particular attention was paid to the design and construction of the prosthetic cup as to increase the subsequent chances of user’s adaptability to the mechatronic prosthesis.
